When I first picked up a guitar at the age of 19 I had no idea how important music would become to me. It wasn’t till much later after many failed attempts at getting bands off the ground, various bedroom and solo projects that I would get into my first proper gigging band, and not as I expected as a guitarist but as a bassist. Being the person I am I’ve always had big ambition and literally within the first 3 months of picking up the instrument I was up in Bristol auditioning for a funk rock band known at the time as V12, my band which was to become Delayed FX was in a total shambles with the drummer AWOL, so I literally saw this as my chance to get my music ambitions started.

I practiced every hour I could for that audition but I was far exceeding my abilities at the time, and safe to say I didn’t get the gig. I was bitterly dissapointed, in fact it seemed to piss me off more than at any other time in my life. I think thats what ignited my passion for the bass, the fact that I had picked it up late in terms of learning an instrument, and that failure just made me more determined to prove to myself I could do it.

So there I was thinking the band thing had passed me by. Little did I know that I was right at the begining!! the next 4 years would bring gigs, rain, egos, lots of traveling, sometimes on the fringes of legality, more booze, sackings, band politics, personality clashes, great music great times and some truely epic moments with some great friends. It left a trail of good music and great times, and The Miscreants who survived the mish mash and are now fully fledged and moved into the Bristol scene.

Which brings me neatly round to Bundle of ID. Brought together by the powers of rock!! This will be my 5th gigging band in as many years and is comprised of no less than three former members of Delayed FX (Austin, Andy and Me) and the actual living breathing Bundle of ID Dominic on drums.

We have now had just 5 practices and we have 5 new songs, plus a couple rescued from the old Delayed FX days (Show me your eyes and Little Child for anyone who’s interested). I’m excited about this band, as musicians we are all a little bit better we all have a little more life experience and Austin has matured as a song writer. Plus and this a massive plus there are NO EGOS! everyone just wants to play good music, and enjoys each others company, the band harmony is good. This has lead to a pretty fluid songwriting process, to the point were in two weeks from now we have our first gig.

We are planning to do a few gigs up in London to test the waters and then we will be heading back down to Devon for some summer dates with old friends. I can’t wait the music we are making atm has GIRTH ROOARR!

Lets see were this journey takes us…
