Well Well, life has a funny way of just slipping by eh! So I must admit my blog has been somewhat neglected recently, mainly becuase I have been soo bloody busy!! parties, work, band practice more work, the occasional chillout followed by more work, time is becoming a precious commodity…

So what’s happened in year 30 of the world of the green you ask? do u care? possibly not, but since blogs are probably our generations equivalent of a deathbed life review, I will continue and hope my future self has time to re-read thro the crap that consisted of my life before shuffling off my hopefully peacfull & painless mortal coil. Anyway where was I, ahh yes, music, my band is recently back to full strength following the return of our singer, Jo. Have to say having auditioned two other singers it was great to have her back, the band didn’t seem quite the whole package without her. Also my other acoustic outfit 7stories, is back in business too, with my old band mate back in on guitar. Strangely it didn’t feel like we had spent any time away!!! and we were straight into the old songs and some new ones too, hopefully we can get out and play live at some point!!!

On the work side my freelance work has picked up with a few exciting projects in the pipeline! keep an eye on thelayer.co.uk for more news on that as it develops. I know the holding page has been there for an age but I have to say the layer is proving difficult to get online, both becuase I’m busy with “actual” work and I also seem to be my hardest client!!! never satisfied with the creative and constantly changing the website spec!! I think I need to put my foot down with myself! hehe.

The day Job, well, I’ll make no bones about it I have found my place of work to be both the most frustrating and enjoyable place in equal measure. I’m now onto just over a year of being at there and the impending pay reviews will definatly give me some indication of how they value my contribution. From my point of view I seem to have had some reasonably big successes for the company including published work for some brands like Kraft, Covonia, Shloer, Pricerunner and Vi-Spring. I’ll never be rich working there but I hope they don’t take the biscuit otherwise my enthusiasm for my job will be strangely directed elsewhere.

On the social front there have been a couple of gatherings of note, firstly the belated engagement party for the recently married friends of mine Simon and Sarah, slightly last minute in organisation on our part but very spontanious. We kinda had a 1920′s theme, mixed in a very post modern way with projected wii games, poker, cigars, croupier (thanks edam) and lots of very crap but entertaining speaches!!. A great time was had by all with some no doubt interesting conversations, since the mix of friends has much history (good and bad) with some of us spending first time together in many years. The night ended up with si and sarah slow dancing to an impromtu acoustic performance from 7stories, anyway here’s some photos courtesy of demonkid,

Also my neighbour and work friend Sam had his 31st Birthday party over with us, a great night was had by all with much revalry meade and chat, he has some very interesting if slightly alternative friends which made for some great conversation!.

Anyway, so this summer appears to be shaping up well, two bands, freelance work a pay review some weddings, new oppertunities for travel and lifestyle. Fingers crossed they all pan out really good!!!
